What Is Your "Good Work"?

As a believer in Christ, what is your work?  What does that look like?

As a believer our good works do not operate or look like the so called “good works” of the world.

Our good works should involve sharing the Good News of God, to call people to the obedience of faith.  Telling the truth to people you love may seem like a no brainer, but are you really telling them the real Truth?  Are you addressing their sin condition as the issue that is before them making them do, think, behave, act on?  Telling the truth to our loved ones is one of the most loving things we can do.  Empathising and sympathising with their sin is one of the MOST harmful things we can do for them and ourselves.  We must understand that Scripture is the most valuable weapon and tool in our arsenal.  The Word of God addresses every part of our sinful human nature and teaches what obedience to God looks like.  The only way we can be obedient is to know God, and our Lord and Savior and what They said.  That is found in the Word of God.  The Holy Spirit empowers us when we read and study Scripture to walk it out step by step.  There is no human good work that is going to save you, that is going to heal you, that is going to make your life easier, that is going to make all your troubles go away.

Jesus said there will be trials and tribulations.  He only speaks the Truth.  There is no amount of money, fame, or position of earthly power that can transform your sinful heart.

Our good works should always be revolving around Who Christ is, What Christ did on the Cross, shining the light of what Christ has done in our own life.  This begins in prayer, in God’s Word and with the power of His Holy Spirit living inside of us.  We are to walk worthy of His calling in our life, and His will for us is found in His Holy Scripture.
