Our Toil Is Not In Vain

True believers toil, that is a sure sign of the regeneration by God in your life. The toil for each of us is different. There are toils that the Lord uses to strengthen our faith, our endurance, our dependence, and the list goes on, from one glory to the next. But that toil is never in vain, and there are times that we may not know or understand how the Lord is using that toil. There are times when truthfully it is none of our business, its Gods. We have to be settled in that fact, we have to be clear on the mission to be submitted to the Lord and to do what He is leading us to do, even when we don't understand. I can promise that there are many many times we will not understand, our minds are finite and His mind is infinite, so we must trust and obey.

Our toil could also include losing friends, family members, and other relationships we hold close, or possessions we hold close, but do not be dismayed and know that you are not alone. The Scripture tells us these things are true, and the Scripture prepares us for this, and we have to learn even more to lean on God. Our toil can lead others to Christ, it can help another brother or sister in Christ into a breakthrough in their own life. There is no way for us to completely understand the workings of God, but we can trust Him, we can lean on Him and not on our own understanding, in fact I highly recommend it. You will have more joy, peace, and endurance if you stop trying to figure everything out, or reason out everything to the nth degree.

There is true hatred and disdain in this world for true Christians and for God. You have to be okay with that and know that it will come. It will come from inside your own home at times, it will come from your job, it will come from extended family, from so called brothers and sisters in the Church. It will come from all kinds of places and you must learn to lean on the Lord. Our High Priest understands, He lived and walked this Earth and He does understand, He was hated, spit on, and Crucified by His "own" people. We have to live prepared, which includes constant and intentional study of Gods Word, and prayer. We have to meditate on His Word, we have to internalize His Word so that is the strongest part of us. God gave His children His Holy Spirit to be our Helper and He is full of power. Yield to Him. This world is headed for destruction, it is headed for judgement, and we have to understand this about the world. It is not our home.

When we toil, when we press on as Paul wrote about, when we understand God is Sovereign, and Providential we understand that He is in control of everything, and there is no weapon that will be formed against Him that could ever prevail. That is true for His children too.
