Motives
Introspection is a wonderful gift, to be able to look inside of yourself and be honest with yourself about yourself. What a Divine gift! The sad thing is that society is too focused on inspecting everyone else's life and flaws, and not only inspecting them but gossiping to others about them. There is a whole industry built around the latest celebrity gossip, what a waste of time and money. It is a distraction, it is a lie, and it is not Biblical, like endless scrolling on social media as if our time is not more valuable.
God is interested in your motives, He knows the deepest parts of you, that you don't even know. Sadly today I have been witness to this self-interest motive in Churches today too. People sitting in the pews on Sunday because thats what they were told was the "right" thing to do, no matter what you did the rest of the week, better be in that pew on Sunday. People tithing, and giving so that they will get their "blessing", or coming to Church and Christ because someone falsely preached that He will solve all your problems. There is for sure selfish careless living in the world today, that is not a big surprise, but I am astounded of how much self satisfaction seeking is happening right in the Church today. We go to Church to worship God as a united group of believers, to encourage and teach each other, to admonish and help each other, but always at the heart to worship and praise God!
We are the bride of Christ, we are to live to glorify our Father, to be lumps of clay, to be seeking the Kingdom of God, not seeking for self-fulfillment. We are to be willing vessels for the Lord to lead and guide and to do His will, at whatever cost to ourselves that means. We are to walk worthy, in the manner of being a child of God. How will you ever know what God is saying if you don't read His Word? I promise you that you will not get all that you need to serve and live for God on Sunday mornings. You need Gods's Word every day, and you need to meditate on it, day and night. Praying for spiritual eyes to see, spiritual ears to hear, and to be transformed daily to be more and more in the image of Christ. Then you need to obey what you have learned, you need to grasp it, internalize it and walk it out in the strength of the Holy Spirit that lives in every believer.
