Concerns

As a believer why are we wasting our time and energy on the cares of this world?

What are we believing? Are we spending our days worried about what we will do, where will we go, what will others think, do they like me?

These thoughts are of the world, the world that is dying, the world that is corrupt, the world that we are to be separated from. As a believer are you still pondering the thoughts of the corruption of our flesh? We are new creations, we are redeemed, we are saved from that old life, why in the world do we want to continue to live in the thoughts of that world?

So what should we be considering? We should be saturating ourselves in Holy Scripture, renewing our minds, allowing the Holy Spirit to empower us with the new life that Christ died to give to us. That only happens when we are saturated with the Word of God. No one knows the future, but we can know deeply the Sovereign God that holds the future. Like Abraham, when told to go, he went, he didn't wait for a 10 point plan to be handed to him by God and then ask more questions so that his finite mind could somehow find satisfaction before starting out.

If you are seeking to please man with all of your thoughts and plans, you will never please God. God id not impressed with the number of friends you have on social media, or how many times you attend church to look religious. God has written your plans, you are to faithfully walk in them, even when you don't understand, and don't have the full picture. He DOES. The same faith that He gave us to be saved, is the same Faith we are to walk in during our lives of sanctification here on this Earth. God has not only planned our walk with Him in this life, but He has planned our future in glorification with Him in heaven. He promised to meet all your needs, He promised He would never leave you, nor forsake you. His promises never fail, He sent a Savior into this world to save us, and He will bring His children to glorification one day.

1 Peter 5:6-8, Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, CASTING all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.

The devil is not roaming around seeking out unbelievers, he is roaming around seeking to devour believers. To keep them full of anxiety, full of distractions so that they become useless in the mission of proclaiming the Gospel, and shining the Light of Christ. Your flesh is in opposition to the Holy Spirit that lives in you as a believer, make sure you are saturated, and armed for the battle against your own flesh.
