Broken and Tamed

As believers we are to be sanctified, for the rest of our days on this Earth. We are to strive to walk in the Spirit and to be broken of our self-will. We are to follow Jesus. We are to obey His commands, that is pleasing to the Lord. Brokenness is so beautiful, I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing me to be broken by the sin of the choices I made. That brokenness, allowed me to be humbled and reach out to the Lord, where in His grace and mercy He lovingly took my hand and gathered me unto Himself. The dry dead bones I was, He renewed and refreshed, and guess what....my flesh did not like it. My flesh still wanted what it wanted and when it wanted. That is the battle, and as I think over this time, I am amazed at how fallen my flesh really is. That is would really want to go back to the dead dry bones of that time. I fight this battle everyday, and I am sure there are so many others doing the same every day! I fight this battle in prayer, in thankfulness, in study of God's Holy Scripture....every day, and continually meditating on Gods Word. It is a battle that happens every minute of every day and you can not relent in the fight. We must learn and learn and learn to stand firm on the promises of God, to stand firm in our obedience to His Word, pray like our lives depend on it, because it does. We must pray and gather in the Church and pray for each other, encourage each other and tell each other the truth. Remind each other that this Earth is not our home, that one day we will be glorified in heaven with our Father. Standing firm while we are here, and sharing the Gospel with others. We must press on, we must empty ourselves of ourself, and be full of the Spirit of God. We must set aside the fruitlessness of the pursuits of this world, and we must allow God to sanctify us, to transform us, so that we can be fruitful here and in His Presence in Heaven.
